Albufeira

Albufeira is a resort with beautiful streched beaches and a beautiful marina with several cafes, shops and restaurants. The strip is the most famous nightlife area in Albufeir. For those who love to dance or want to get out for a drink, the strip is the place to be in Albufeira. This long street contains several bars, nightclubs, restaurants and several souvenir shops. Also a recently renovated square in Albufeira is a nice place to go to. It contains different bars, restaurants, ice cream vendors, shops and several terraces. This square is crowded in the summer by audiences of all ages and nationalities and is highly recommended! Praia da Oura is directly linked to Albufeira and is actually become the new center. Every year on New Year's Eve there is a large firework display held on the famous beach of Albufeira "Fishermans Beach"!

Originally Albufeira is an old fishing village, which has become one of the most important and tourist resorts of Portugal over the last decades. Despite the tourism Albufeira kept their athmosphere because the center is free car and there are no high buildings been placed.

A few kilometers inland from Albufeira, the Portuguese life is completely different, here are the picturesque villages of Portugal to be found and also the beautiful green surroundings with a variety of flora and fauna.

Albufeira also contains some nice attractions like Sagres (the most southwesterly point of Europe), a jeep safari to explore the within countries, Sevilla (the Spanish city from Albufeira to visit), Zoomarine (a beautiful park with dolphins, sea lions and other animals) and Slide and splash (a spectacular water park with slides and 8 pools).

From Faro airport is approximately 40 minutes drive.
